X-Ray Components

Transparent and Opaque Metals, Spectral Filters
Beryllium Windows
Beryllium is a high-performance material in commercial x-ray applications due to its unusual combination of properties. Unlike most metals, beryllium has a low mass absorption coefficient, which means that it is highly transmissive to x-rays. This combined with high mechanical strength and excellent heat conductivity makes Beryllium the material of choice for windows of high performance x-ray tubes. Coating these windows with Rhodium generates target anodes for fine focus tubes.
Rhodium Filters
Highly pure and homogenous, defect free foils as thin as 0.001” made of Rhodium act as spectral filter in mammography equipment. Using only the most suitable x-ray spectrum enhences, the contrast and reduces the radiation for best detection of breast cancer. With our special melting technology combined with clean room metal rolling we are a leading source for such filters.
X-Ray Markers
Shaped into little discs, rivets, pins, spheres and tubes Platinum, Gold and Tantalum alloys become perfect x-ray markers which make implants and interventional devices visible. Whether stents, spinal implants, catheters or x-ray stereography the application of such markers is manifold.
