Plastic Injection Molding
Plastic Components
Plastic components are used in many implantable devices - either for delivery or for permanent parts of indwelling devices. Heraeus works with customers to select the best polymer for the application. Precise molding and machining of plastic and metal components, bonding, tipping and assembly, are all part of Heraeus’ complement of services.
  • Mold design and material selection
  • Bonding, tipping, surface coating
  • Insert molding
  • Multi-material assembly
  • Second sourcing of extrusion and specialty polymer processes
Heraeus provides both completed component manufacturing and new part design to client specification.

Heraeus Medical Components offers guidance in the selection of materials for your mold tooling. We are very experienced in producing parts molded from engineering and medical-grade resins.
Tooling
We provide tooling from aluminum and MUD sets to P-20 and hardened stainless steel. Tools can be automated using standard and hot runner systems.
Heraeus MCD integrates your design with modeling capabilities for tool design and tool build. Before steel is cut, we consult and review engineering drawings for design-for-injection-molding features and for critical dimensional analysis. Our preventative maintenance programs ensure that your investment in tooling yields the returns you expect.
Micro Molding
Heraeus Medical Components provides micro molding capabilities for ultra precise and small components. We can produce products weighing just fractions of a gram, conserve on precious materials, and shorten cycle times to reduce cost.
